A continual review of the City's employment practices is conducted periodically to eliminate and replace any program that may create unlawful adverse impact for protected groups. The Equal Employment Opportunity Plan (EEOP), developed by the Department of Human Resources, is a detailed, results-oriented set of procedures which allows the City to continually evaluate its diversity goals and mandates.
A Diversity Management Group (DMG), established within the Department of Human Resources, is committed to the following mission:

DMG works in partnership with City officials, departments, and employees striving to create an environment offering the highest level of service that will distinguish the City of Virginia Beach as a leader in the areas of diversity and equal employment opportunity. Job counseling and guidance
Orientations that provide information regarding the City's diversity program
