YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES OFFICE
The Virginia Beach Youth Opportunities Office (YOO) was established in May 1998 through a collaborative effort of the City of Virginia Beach and the Virginia Beach City Public Schools. The mission of the Youth Opportunities Office is to ensure positive youth development of all Virginia Beach youth through education and awareness, collaboration, recreation, and specialized programs.
A primary goal of the YOO is to sustain a collaborative approach among youth-serving agencies and the Community, to create and expand opportunities that promote the positive development of youth, birth-18 years old. The YOO and the Youth Opportunities Team (YOT) strive to insure that opportunities and services are available and accessible to all youth, while maintaining an emphasis on those who are most at-risk.
