You may register to vote if you are a United States citizen, a resident of Virginia, will be 18 years of age by the day of the next General Election, have had your voting rights restored if you have ever been convicted of a felony and have had your capacity restored if you have been declared mentally incapacitated in a Circuit Court.

All polls open at 6:00am and close at 7:00pm on election day.

Voter registration deadline for the Tuesday, November 3, 2009 General Election is Monday, October 5, 2009 at 5:00 pm for anyone wishing to register to vote or update their voter registration information. The deadline is 29 days before an election as required by Commonwealth law. Residents must register in the precinct in which they reside. Absentee Ballot Applications are available upon request.

Absentee Voting will be available in the Voter Registrar's Office beginning Friday, September 18, 2009 to Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009, Saturday, October 24, 2009 and Saturday, October 31, 2009.
