The farm was bordered by the Norfolk ("Little Creek") reservoir on the west, Shore Drive on the north, and Northampton Boulevard on the south. The area is located on the site of the present Lake Shores subdivision.

B. W. Shelton, Jr. was a farmer in the Bayside area of Princess Anne County, specializing in truck farming. He was a charter member and officer of the Princess Anne County Cooperative Farm Bureau, Inc., serving as its secretary/treasurer from 1937-1951.
