VB 2007 - Your Journey Begins in the Library

Celebrate 400 years of Hampton Roads history! The members of the Virginia Company landed right here in Virginia Beach before they went on to settle Jamestown in 1607. Experience that first landing, capture the spirit of our culture, literature and politics --- the stuff that makes America great --- with a visit to your library.

Beginning in September, enjoy special programs featuring music of the time period, hear experts speak about famous people such as Captain John Smith, get involved in building an authentic period boat, learn about native Americans or simply be amazed by talent and knowledge handed down to us from these brave explorers.

Visit the Virginia Beach Public Library and let your journey begin.
