Personal Papers - Bernard Gibbs Barrow

Bernard Gibbs Barrow was born in Newport News, Virginia on July 3, 1937. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958 and a Bachelor of Law degree in 1965 from the University of Virginia. He practiced law in Norfolk and Virginia Beach from 1965-1980. Barrow was elected to Virginia's House of Delegates in 1975 from the 2nd Congressional District, House District 40, representing Virginia Beach, and he served through 1980. From 1980 until 1985, Barrow was a circuit court judge in Virginia Beach. In 1985, he was apppointed to the Virginia Court of Appeals.
