Virginia Beach is dedicated to preserving our natural environment, both to improve the quality of life for our residents today and for the benefit of future generations. The Environmental Sustainability Office was created to coordinate interdepartmental green initaitives and serve in an advisory capacity for multiple programs. The office plays a key role in efforts such as the Lynnhaven River oyster restoration, green schools and bringing wind energy to Virginia Beach.
