Updated 11am Today
This is our final Hurricane Arthur update. Atlantic wave action continues to subside though still dangerous. Red flag conditions on all our beaches have been posted. Visitors are headed back onto the sand in anticipation of improving conditions for the remainder of the day. Winds continue out of the north sustained above 20mph and gusts above 30mph. High tide on the Bay beaches is at 1 pm today. Wave height on the bay is 5 feet. Estimates indicate there is sufficient beach, dunes and bulkhead on the bay beaches to prevent any breaches. Precipitation has ended. Except for a few broken limbs we had little canopy damage. No roads are impassable and all traffic signals are operational. Power outages continue to fluctuate and the count has been reduced to 246. The CBBT has posted level 2 travel restrictions. The VB EOC is closing operations at 11am. Enjoy what promises to be a beautiful weekend in Virginia Beach.
