The nationally touring Digital Bookmobile from Overdrive, Virginia Beach Public Library’s e-book and audiobook service provider, will stop at the Central Library on Friday, Sept. 28, and Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer is outfitted with broadband Internet-connected PCs, high-definition monitors and premium sound systems. Readers of all ages can board the bus, chat with staff from the library and Overdrive, and learn how to download titles from the library. The bookmobile also features a gadget gallery showcasing popular tablets and e-readers that are compatible with the library’s download services.
Virginia Beach Public Library card-holders can visit www.VBgov.com/ebooks to browse and download titles from an ever-expanding collection of best-sellers, new releases and classics. E-books and audiobooks may be downloaded to enjoy on a computer or transferred to compatible devices. Many audio titles can be burned to CD. When the lending period ends for an e-book or audiobook download, the title automatically expires and is returned to the digital collection – no late fees.
