The City of Virginia Beach Youth and Community Action Team (YCAT) is hosting a youth driven town hall forum designed to equip middle and high school youth to think critically about personal choices, emerging community health and wellness trends, and the power youth have individually and collectively to impact peers, family, and community norms in the City of Virginia Beach. The forum will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Great Neck Recreation Center, 2521 Shorehaven Drive, Virginia Beach. Pizza, snacks and door prizes will be provided.
All Virginia Beach middle and high school students are invited to attend. The Youth and Community Action Team (YCAT) is a community coalition with members representing the youth, citizens, businesses, and faith-based communities of Virginia Beach. Part of the Human Services Department’s Substance Abuse Prevention Unit, the mission of YCAT is to support a safe, healthy and drug-free Virginia Beach by working collaboratively with youth, families and the community.
