Be Advised of Salem Lakes Trail Removal beginning the week of April 8, 2013
Wednesday, April 03, 2013 · 09:00 am
City of Virginia Beach Departments of Parks & Recreation and Public Works are set to begin removing the asphalt trail surrounding the stormwater pond in the Salem Lakes neighborhood.
Public access to the pedestrian pathway located parallel to the lake behind homes along Centennial Circle and several connecting streets in the Salem Lakes neighborhood have been closed due to embankment erosion. The asphalt trail’s close proximity to the embankment erosion is a public safety concern. Construction work will also include grading and seeding after the asphalt removal. Weather permitting, construction is scheduled for completion this summer.
For more information about the trail removal, please contact Chris Kennedy in Planning, Design & Development at 385-8458 or Mike Parkman in Parks & Natural Areas at 385-1189.
