The Robert Cray Band will return to Virginia Beach with a smooth mix of popular and traditional blues at The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at www.sandlercenter.org.
Along with his Grammy wins, Robert Cray has released 20 award-winning multiplatinum albums, received 15 Grammy nominations and was recently inducted into the 2011 Blues Hall of Fame. Cray has performed thousands of sold-out shows worldwide with The Robert Cray Band, featuring longtime (and Robert’s original) bassist Richard Cousins, keyboardist and band cornerstone since 1989 Jim Pugh, and drummer Anthony Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Taj Mahal).
“We have been very lucky,” Cray said, “with music becoming mostly digital in recent years and artists not selling the same number of physical records, we’re afforded the luxury of having a great loyal and amazing fan base around the world, allowing a band like ours to continue to work.”
On this his latest studio release, Robert Cray is once again laying down his cards, testing his talent, fusing that dazzling voice to some of the most powerful material in his three-decade back catalogue and offering his fans Nothin’ But Love.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow – Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. For tickets, visit www.sandlercenter.org, or the Sandler Center Box Office, or call 1-888-326-9849.
