The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts has added two shows, along with a classical music series, to the 2012-2013 Great Performance Series. The two main stage shows feature some of the biggest names in the music industry: Lyle Lovett and His Acoustic Group and the Time Jumpers.
Lovett returns to the Sandler Center after a sold-out performance in 2008. Lovett has continued his success since his last stop in Virginia Beach with his most recent album, Release Me (2012). Lovett’s Acoustic Group performance promises to be an incredible evening at the Sandler Center on Nov. 13. The Time Jumpers, featuring some of music’s greatest names, including Vince Gill and Larry Franklin, consist of 11 members and include instruments ranging from upright bass to accordions and fiddles. Their uniquely crisp and blended sound is incomparable to any other music group today.
The Sandler Center Classical Series is a new concept at the Sandler Center that will feature performances from two world-renowned groups, New York Polyphony and Philadelphia Brass. Both performances will take place in the Sandler Center’s Miller Studio Theatre, with limited seating available. These intimate performances will be coupled with education outreach for local music students.
