Virginia Beach Public Works has announced upcoming road and lane closures on Northampton Boulevard near Pleasure House Road for two weekends in September.
On Sunday, Sept. 16, beginning at 7 a.m., the road will be closed eastbound for approximately 10 to 15 minutes while contractors replace the traffic signal mast arm. Work will continue with periodic lane closures as needed until noon.
On Sunday, Sept. 23, beginning at 7 a.m., the road will be closed westbound for 10 to 15 minutes, and work will continue with periodic lane closures as needed until noon.
All local traffic, including traffic on Northampton Boulevard, Shore Drive and the Chesapeake Bay-Bridge Tunnel, will be affected. Message boards will be stationed in the area beginning this week to inform drivers of the traffic situation. Police will be present to monitor and direct traffic as needed.
