Since opening in November 2007, the Sandler Center has boasted a full and diverse calendar of events. The continuous growth and popularity of the Sandler Center has led to more than 1,300 events and 313,000 attendees in only 3½ years. In April, the Sandler Center broke yet another record, hosting 111 events with more than 17,000 attendees, including six sold-out performances.
These events included everything from meetings and receptions to student matinees, concerts, dance and theater. April was highlighted by sold-out performances by America, The Color Purple, Boz Scaggs and the 10th annual free family event, Kids Arts Palooza.
The mission of the Sandler Center is to provide quality and diverse programming that appeals to all ages, from the youngest student to the most seasoned arts patron. With fewer than 100 feet separating the front of the stage and the farthest seat in the house, flawless acoustics and state-of-the-art interior, the Sandler Center has established itself as the cultural gem of the region.
