Mark your calendars for the opening of Virginia Beach’s newest recreation center, skate park and park! The ribbon cutting ceremony for Williams Farm Community Recreation Center and Park will be held at 4 pm, October 26, 2012. Located at 5252 Learning Circle, the Williams Farm Community Recreation Center and Park is located off Newtown Road, between Diamond Spring and Newtown Elementary Schools.
The Williams Farm Community Recreation Center is a 71,000 square foot innovative facility like none other in Virginia Beach. The large indoor pool will be loved for its indoor water playground, 150-foot curving slide (which goes outside the building before returning into the pool), outdoor sprayground, and a rock climbing wall. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the spacious cardiovascular, free weight, and fitness class areas, as well as the indoor track which overlooks the pool and gym. Other features include an outdoor sport/play area, a multimedia area for teens, classrooms for our preschool programs, and meeting rooms.
Williams Farm Skate Park is a 25,000 square foot skate park with urban street plaza elements like steps and rails, a vert ramp/bowl component, and a flow park.
Williams Farm Community Park is a 30-acre park that opened in 2008. It features large central space for athletic play, an asphalt multi-use path, and parking. The park will also have restrooms, picnic shelters, a park office, and paths that connect to the neighborhoods.
