At its May meeting, the Virginia Beach Public Library Board elected Nancy K. Parker as chair of the board and Dr. Michael S. Summers as vice-chair.
Parker was appointed to the Library Board in September of 2006, and previously served on Virginia Beach City Council. Appointed to the board in May of 2010, Dr. Summers is the Provost of Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach Campus.
The Virginia Beach Public Library Board has 13 members who are appointed by City Council. Board meetings are held at Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library on the second Monday of the month, September through May. Meetings are open to the public.
