Hey kids, come check out these cool vehicles! On Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical responders will greet the community and share an up-close look at the tools of their trade at the Great Neck Farm Fresh parking lot, 2110 Great Neck Square. Farm Fresh and Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters are co-sponsors.
Guests will see the Nightingale helicopter, the Virginia Beach Police helicopter and bomb truck, fire engines, ladder trucks and more. Come meet first responders as they perform live demonstrations. Scenarios will be staged and combined with interactive displays of public safety equipment and vehicles.
Also participating in this year’s event will be McGruff the DARE dog, along with Buckets the Clown from Virginia Beach Fire Life Safety. Officers will be available to sign up children for the Child ID program, along with Project Life Saver representatives, the bomb squad, police helicopter pilot, Nightingale helicopter pilot, Emergency Medical Services personnel, members from Vigilant Watch and firefighters from Company 8 Ladder/Engine.
Donations will be accepted to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters to help local kids fighting cancer. We hope to see you there!
