A Hilarious Night with Martin Short at the Sandler Center

Legendary comedian Martin Short takes the stage on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts. Short’s standup performances have attracted sold-out audiences across the globe. Short’s live acts are a dynamic mix of comedy, music and improvisation. The show brings together many of the characters that have made Short famous.

Hampton Roads celebrities will join Short on stage for parts of his performance. Rocco Wilson (director of Theatrix Productions, Inc.), Juliet Bickford (WTKR news anchor) and state Del. Ron Villaneuva will all play roles in Short’s performance. The show is an all-encompassing performance of characters that have given Short enormous success throughout his illustrious career.

Short began his career on Canada’s "SCTV Comedy Network," where his work garnered an Emmy Award. Short’s proven ability as a comedic chameleon and his host of hilarious impressions brought him to the attention of "Saturday Night Live." After only one season, Short was instantly recognized for his standout performances and on-the-mark impressions. Short has since established himself as a comedy star in Three Amigos, Innerspace and Father of the Bride.
