This month marks the fourth anniversary of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of Town Center of Virginia Beach. Since opening night, Town Center has evolved and grown, but the Sandler Center has remained a steadfast beacon in the midst of Virginia Beach’s booming business center.
The Sandler Center has been decorated with numerous awards for its beautiful exterior and inspired interior design. The center also has obtained the designation of two additional sought-after industry awards. Our status as a state-certified Virginia Green and Energy Star Efficient facility are among our most prized recognitions.
The fourth year at the Sandler Center is marked by several milestones. On Nov. 1, the Sandler Center welcomed Gladys Knight as she performed the remarkable 90th sell-out performance in just four years. Sell-out crowds have gathered at the Sandler Center to enjoy performances from resident companies, rental groups and the Sandler Center’s signature Great Performance Series. Virginia Beach’s 1,300-seat Performing Arts Center has hosted incredible performances including those by Willie Nelson, Harry Connick Jr., The Four Tops and Temptations, and Tony Bennett. More than 1,800 events and performances have been held at the Sandler Center. These events range from performances on the main stage to classroom rentals for local organizations.
The Sandler Center’s fifth season continues through the next six months with performances from the Vienna Boys Choir, Martin Short, TAO: The Art of the Drum, Diana Krall and more.
