Virginia Beach Minority Business Council Will Hold 2011Conference and Expo

The Minority Business Council of Virginia Beach will conduct its16th annual Conference and Expo on Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.  The theme of this year’s expo is “Connect & Grow Your Business.” Jim Cheng, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade, will deliver the keynote speech at 3 p.m.

This annual event was developed for area small, woman, minority and service-disabled owned businesses to promote their goods and services. Conference and Expo attendees will have an opportunity to network with business owners, learn strategies for success from experienced professionals, and share their company’s capabilities with procurement officials from across the Commonwealth.

An informative series of workshops will offer current information on topics like “Business Strategies and Leadership” and “Capital Funding Sources.”

On-site registration for the Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise (DMBE) Small, Woman and Minority (SWaM) Program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program will also be available.
