Current pop hits, ‘80s tunes, classical, jazz, country ... now you can download it all from Virginia Beach Public Library’s website. The library has added Freegal Music Service, providing access to Sony Music’s extensive song collection to those with a valid Virginia Beach Public Library card. The songs can be played on your computer or transferred to an MP3 player. Download up to three songs per week, yours to keep, free of charge.
“I think our customers will be as excited to download music from the library’s website as we are to offer it as an option,” said Clara Hudson, support services manager at Virginia Beach Public Library. “Freegal Music Service helps us adapt to our customers’ changing needs and habits. It provides customers the option to access music from home, in addition to being able to walk into a library and check out CDs.”
Music is the latest addition to the library’s downloadable media collection, which includes audiobooks and ebooks that may be transferred to most popular e-readers. In addition to downloadable media, Virginia Beach Public Library offers extensive resources accessible around the clock to help you research any topic.
