Explore the works of various artists and craftspeople during Artisans in the Park, Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation’s 39th annual art and craft festival taking place in the serenely secluded backdrop of Great Neck Park (2513 Shorehaven Drive). This annual two-day event offers attendees the opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy Virginia Beach’s late summer weather while enjoying the local and regional artists displaying, demonstrating and selling original art and fine craft wares. This event is free and open to the public, beginning at 10 am on both days, ending at 5 pm on Saturday and 4 pm on Sunday.
Artists & Craftsmen
A variety of art and fine craft styles are included in this outdoor art and craft festival including pottery, metal and glass work, photography, jewelry, drawing and paintings, and sculpture. All work is of original design with the artists on site. There are artisans who throw pots, turn wood, paint pictures, blow glass, forge metal, and photograph beautiful landscapes and wildlife, including beach and historic settings in Hampton Roads.
Free caricature drawings will be available on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Stop by the Main Stage for live music throughout the weekend, featuring local performers Costume Party, Eddie Sal’s Band, Jack Becker, Johnny Johnson, and User Friendly. Children and seniors will have an opportunity to have a free photo ID card made on site, compliments of the Virginia Beach Mason Lodge, District 56 at shelter #2. Children are also able to play on the impressive park playground that features play equipment that has access for children of all ages and abilities.
Ceramic Designer’s Association offers the display and sale of works by local guild members all weekend. Clay Play for Children free at shelter #3!

A variety of food trucks and vendors will be selling delicious items including, BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, pitas and more! Smoothies, lemonade, and kettle corn will be available too.
Parking at Cox High School (corner of Great Neck Road & Shorehaven Drive), with free shuttle bus service to the nearby park.
