(Virginia Beach, VA) – Taste the late summer air at Mount Trashmore Park (310 Edwin Drive) on Friday, August 22, 2014, for the final installment of Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation’s Summer Movie Night Series featuring the 2007 Disney Pixar foodie film, “Ratatouille” (rated G, 111 minutes). Follow the culinary adventures of an ambitious rat named Remy who aspires to become a chef through forming an unlikely alliance with the garbage boy at a sophisticated restaurant in Paris. Savor additional activities that take place prior to the movie beginning at 7:00 pm, including authentic Ratatouille with Crostini tastings by the Culinary Institute of Virginia, College of Culinary Arts of ECPI University. Enrich your Movie Night experience by learning about all things French via Alliance Française, a group formed to connect people who are interested in the French language and culture. To round out the theme of the evening, meet real live critters available for adoption courtesy of the Virginia Beach SPCA.
In addition, Virginia Cooperative Extension’s Family Nutrition Program will be providing information for building skills to select, buy, prepare, and store foods that will meet the nutritional needs of families, while staying within a limited budget. The Virginia Beach Public Library Teen Advisory Group will also be talking up resources available for their August theme relating to families being “Together in the Kitchen.”
