(Virginia Beach, VA) – Back by popular demand! Kayak rentals are now being offered at Stumpy Lake Natural Area (4797 Indian River Road) beginning Monday, July 14 through Friday, October 3, 2014 (rentals unavailable July 19 only). Bring your friends or family out and rent one of our kayaks (tandem & singles available) to paddle this beautiful area.
Operated by Wild River Outfitters, kayak rentals will be available Monday through Friday from 12 pm until 7 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm (hours are subject to change). Single boat rentals are $30 for 4 hours; tandem boat rentals cost $50 for 4 hours (cash and credit only accepted onsite). Ages 6-12 must be in a tandem kayak with an adult; ages 13 and up are eligible to paddle a single boat. Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets) and paddles will be provided with rental.
Rentals will occur unless conditions are unsafe. Thunder and lightning will require for all users to exit the water and wait until the storm passes before resuming activity. Accommodations can be provided to special needs individuals that are able to operate the equipment used to control the kayak.
Want more outdoor recreation? Canoe/kayak rentals are also available at Munden Point Park (2001 Pefley Lane) for $10/hour.
