(Virginia Beach, VA) – Grab your board and head out to Williams Farm Skate Park (5269 Learning Circle) on Saturday, June 21, 2014, to celebrate the official holiday of skateboarding: Go Skateboarding Day. From 10 am - 5 pm, skaters of all ages can challenge their friends to games of S.K.A.T.E., Stack It, the Wall Ride Challenge and more for prizes and bragging rights.
Williams Farm Skate Park is a 25,000 square foot, concrete skate park that features a tiered bowl, flow park and urban skate plaza. LED lighting allows access from 8 am to 9 pm daily for public skate. Skate parks are free and open to the public, but a free Skate Park Pass and helmet are required for entry.
Don’t forget to visit Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation’s two other skate parks at Mount Trashmore Park (310 Edwin Drive), which includes a 24,000 square foot extensive street course flowing from an aboveground, seven-foot deep bowl as well as a competition-sized vert ramp that stands at a massive 13.5 feet tall and 40 feet wide; and Woodstock Park (5709 Providence Road) which has 10,400 square feet of concrete skateable area and features several challenging components, the plaza contains a five-foot tall quarter pipe, vert wall, rails, hubba ledges, radial ledges, stairs and handrails to provide endless skating action.
