Virginia Beach Public Works will begin day and night road milling and paving projects next Monday, May 19, 2014.
Beginning Monday through Thursday, May 22, crews will begin milling and paving work on westbound Sandbridge Road from Seibert Reality to approximately 1,700 linear feet west (repairing the settled area to the crown of the roadway). Work hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Beginning Tuesday, May 27, crews will begin night work of milling operations on both the east and west bound lanes on Sandbridge Road from Colchester Road to Las Brisas Drive. Starting the week of June 2, crews will begin paving this section of road which will complete the project.
They will also install raised pavement markings to improve visibility and safety.
Night crews will be working from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night, and expect all work to be completed by June 13th.
All work is weather permitting.
The milling and paving operation is likely to produce traffic delays, congestion, and some construction noise. Advanced warning signs will be clearly posted advising motorists of lane closures. Citizens are urged to schedule their commutes accordingly to avoid delays.
