Grommet Island Park located on 2nd Street by the boardwalk will be closed beginning Wednesday, April 23 through Friday, April 25 for general maintenance and sand removal. The park will reopen Saturday morning, April 26, 2014.
Grommet Island Park is a fully accessible park, built adjacent to the boardwalk between 1st and 2nd streets allowing individuals with disabilities to easily maneuver across the beach to the ocean. Featuring soft play structures, wheelchair accessible seating, accessible surf-themed play structures and more, this 15,000 square foot accessible play area on the beach is the first of its kind in America.
