The fishing pier at Little Island Park (3820 S. Sandpiper Road) will be closed beginning Tuesday, April 1 through Friday, April 11, 2014 (weather permitting), for seasonal maintenance to prepare for the upcoming fishing season.
Located just north of Back Bay Wildlife Refuge, Little Island Park is a 144-acre beach park in Sandbridge and is currently open 7:00 am until 7:30 pm. While pier patrons do not need a fishing license to fish on the pier, please note that citizens are required to have a license to fish from the surf. Once re-open, the fishing pier’s operating hours will be from 5:30 am until 11:00 pm.
Please contact park staff to inquire about pier re-opening by calling (757) 426-0013. For additional questions about Little Island Park, please contact Susan Topping in Parks & Natural Areas at 757-385-1118.
