(Virginia Beach, Va., October 22, 2013) – Today, more than 600 visitors will arrive in 17 motorcoaches at the Virginia Beach oceanfront for the brand new, three-day “USO Show Tribute – Music of WWII and Korea” group tour package. To attract the group tour market year-round, the Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) creates tour packages that showcase unique experiences. This Signature Tour was created with the 2013 U.S. Tours/Travel Alliance Partners (TAP), and features a tribute to USO shows of years gone by while honoring those who entertained America’s military in warzones around the world. More than 800 room nights have been booked at seven Virginia Beach hotels and an estimated $600,000 in direct spending is expected to be generated.
This one-of-a-kind event combining both nostalgic and patriotic music shows of the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s will bring visitors from as far as California. In just two years, this package has been met with such high demand that an encore event for Oct. 14 to 17, 2014 has been secured by the Virginia Beach CVB and bookings are already taking place.
More than 600 guests from across the U.S. will visit Virginia Beach attractions and businesses during a USO-themed tour which includes:
Beach Party Welcome at the Virginia Beach Convention with live music from “The Rhondels”
A Cabaret Style Dinner Show featuring the sultry vocals of Emme St. James and her Jazz Gentlemen
Tour of the Virginia Beach Military Aviation Museum with more than 65 military aircraft from WWI and WWII
