The Virginia Beach Human Services Department is accepting fuel assistance applications through Nov. 8. Applications can be made online at www.CommonHelp.virginia.gov (look for the link at the bottom right), by mail to the Virginia Beach Human Services Department, 3432 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452, or in person between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or by fax to (757) 385-2560.
The program helps eligible households with the cost of home heating by offsetting part of the expense, rather than paying all of it. This program can also help with furnace re-starts, late charges, delivery charges, installation charges and connection or re-connection fees.
To be eligible, certain income guidelines and living arrangements must be met. The household must be responsible for paying the heating bill. Applicants should expect notification of their eligibility determination by mid-December.
For general information, please contact the Energy Assistance Program Assistant, Taneika Williams, at (757) 385-3394 or TMWillia@vbgov.com .
