(Virginia Beach, Va., October 16, 2013) – The season finale of TLC’s “Cheer Perfection,” filmed during the U.S. Finals at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in May, will air tonight at 9 p.m. on TLC. Much of the interior hall space and shots of the exterior of the convention center are featured in the show.
The U.S. Finals - Virginia Beach eclipsed over 600 teams in 2012 making it one of the top three largest cheer and dance events in the country. This year, the competition brought a total of 18,000 participants and spectators to Virginia Beach, 13,000 of which traveled from out of the area. More than 4,300 room nights were booked as a result of the event with total direct spending of approximately $5.6 million.
Cheer Perfection, televised nationally and in the UK, is a reality series which follows the competition cheerleading team Cheer Time Revolution (CTR) and their families from Sherwood, AR. The CTR Youth Silver squad competed in the Virginia Beach finals.
The U.S. Finals will be returning to Virginia Beach in May 2014 with a projected attendance of 18,000 participants and spectators from the region as well as from cities across the United States.
