Teens age 11 to 17 with an interest in singing, performing or music production are encouraged to participate in the newest free multimedia programs at Williams Farm Community Recreation Center.
Vocalists are needed for the Intro to Vocals Performance Workshops held 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Mondays, September 16 through October 28, 2013. Teens will explore their voices in an actual studio, learn about famous vocalist from various genres, and enhance their vocal performances through drills and exercises.
Those looking to explore the production side of music should attend the Intro to Music Production Workshops 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Wednesday, September 18 through October 30, 2013. Participants will learn basic music composition techniques and will create their own musical productions.
Dancers, singers and other performing artists are also in demand for the Wil.Fa Project. These performers will train with aspiring teen producers to perform at events and showcases, and will record and produce a creative, original album. Wil.Fa Project begins 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Thursday, September 19.
There’s no need to register in advance, simply show up and have fun. There is no cost for the programs or workshops, although a valid Virginia Beach recreation center membership is required.
