New York Times- bestselling author and Virginia resident Maggie Stiefvater will speak Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. Virginia Beach is the third stop on the international tour for “The Dream Thieves,” releasing Sept. 17, 2013, a follow up to last year’s hit, “The Raven Boys.” The event is free and open to the public.
After her talk, Stiefvater will answer questions and sign books, available for purchase on-site from Prince Books. Popular among teens and adults, Stiefvater’s books include the “Shiver” trilogy, which spent 40-plus weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list.
“We are excited to offer Beach citizens the opportunity to meet and learn from this highly respected author,” said Katie Cerqua, youth and family services manager at Virginia Beach Public Library. “Her books are examples of how teen fiction can start conversations and spark excitement around books and reading – for teens and adults.”
The event is funded by a grant from Friends of the Virginia Beach Public Library. For additional event details, call (757) 385-0147. For more information about the author, visit www.maggiestiefvater.com.
