Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is looking for skateboarders to participate in this year’s 2013 SK8R Bash competition on Saturday, October 19. SK8R Bash is switching it up this year to a new location and will be hosted at City of Virginia Beach’s newest skate park facility: Williams Farm Skate Park (5269 Learning Circle).
Williams Farm Skate Park is a 25,000 square foot, concrete skate park that features a tiered bowl, flow park and urban skate plaza. Competition includes beginner, intermediate and advanced heats in flow, street and bowl. Beginner competition is restricted to youth who are fairly new to skateboard competitions and/or under the age of 14; the intermediate and advanced levels are open to all ages. Competition applications are available at www.VBgov.com/specialevents. Deadline to submit competitor applications are October 4, 2013.
2013 SK8R Bash is free and open to the public, competitors check in and register starting at 8am, competition starts at 10am till 5:30pm on Saturday, October 19. Music, interactive activities and an open street course for all event attendees will be a part of the additional event attractions.
