The City of Virginia Beach will hold a public budget information session on Thursday, April 4, at 6 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St. City Manager James Spore and Management Services Director Catheryn Whitesell will give a presentation on the proposed operating and capital budgets for FY2013-14 and will take questions.
This is not a public hearing; it is in addition to two scheduled public hearings. This meeting will give citizens a chance to learn more about the factors that shaped the proposed budget, which was presented to the City Council on March 26.
The City Council will hold two public hearings on the budget in April:
· Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m. at Virginia Beach Middle School, 600 25th St.
· Tuesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. in the City Council chamber.

The City Council will hold workshops to discuss the budget each Tuesday in April. The council is scheduled to hold a budget reconciliation workshop on Tuesday, May 7, and is scheduled to vote on the budget on Tuesday, May 14.
