March 1-3: Lionel Bart’s Oliver! is brought to the Sandler Center stage by Virginia Musical Theatre. This beautiful musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic Oliver Twist features a lovely and haunting score. March 1 at 8 p.m., March 2 at 2 and 8 p.m., March 3 at 2 p.m.
March 9: Snow White presented by Ballet Virginia International takes the stage. The classic fairytale is told through enchanting ballet performances featuring more than 100 company dancers and guest artists. This is a show the whole family will remember happily ever after. Performance times are 2 and 7:30 p.m.
March 10: Celebrate the arts with the whole family! The Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission and the Sandler Center present the annual Kids Arts Palooza from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Sandler Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
Kids Arts Palooza will feature Theatrix Productions, taking the Main Stage at 2:30 and 4 p.m. The show is suitable for children of all ages and is sure to entertain. Visitors will delight in the region’s only arts-focused event featuring more than 25 interactive stations, ranging from an instrument petting zoo to cupcake decorating. Other activities will include more live entertainment, costume characters, face painting and make-‘n’-take crafts. Kids Arts Palooza gives local children and their families the opportunity to interact with various forms of the arts in a relaxed, fun and inquisitive environment.
Tickets will be available for face painting. Donations will be accepted at the door, with all proceeds to benefit the Sandler Center Foundation’s ACCESS the ARTS program.
