Crime Prevention Steering Committee Hosting Human Trafficking Forum

On Tuesday, January 15, 2013, the Virginia Beach Crime Prevention Steering Committee and the Thalia Lynn Baptist Church Women on Missions will be hosting a Human Trafficking Forum from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. The event will take place at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, located at 4392 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach. There will be a free screening of the film documentary “Sex + Money” which depicts the behind the scenes Human Trafficking issue taking place in the United States. A panel consisting of a producer from the film “Sex + Money,” a representative of the Virginia Beach Justice Initiative, a special agent from the FBI, and a representative from the Office of the Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia will discuss how Human Trafficking affects Virginia and the Hampton Roads community. A question and answer session will follow their individual presentations.
The forum will be free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided beginning at 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. Free child care will be provided by the church’s WMU. Reservations for child care must be made in advance. Please contact the church office at 499-0557 for child care reservations.
