The BEACH Community Partnership and the Interfaith Alliance at the Beach are accepting items for hygiene kits that will be provided to families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Virginia Beach. Needed items include toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, body wash or soap, shampoo, lotion, combs and lip balm. A complete list of items can be found online at www.beach-cp.org.
To donate, please drop off hygiene items or completed kits by Wednesday, Jan. 16, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the Laskin Road Annex, 1413 Laskin Road. For more information, contact B.J. McGrath with the BEACH Community Partnership at (757) 263-2062.
Hygiene kits will be distributed at Project Homeless Connect on Jan. 24 at the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, 212 19th St. The event will offer a variety of supportive services and resources for families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
BEACH, which stands for Bringing an End to All City Homelessness, is a partnership of city, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, seeking to better address homelessness through enhanced cooperation and communication, coordinated service delivery, resource development and new strategies. The Interfaith Alliance at the Beach includes representatives from government agencies, faith organizations and other community groups helping to connect and coordinate community services to people in need.
