Grand Jury Returns 95 Indictments: Man Indicted for Attempted Rape, Abduction

Harvey L. Bryant, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach, announced that a grand jury meeting in Virginia Beach Circuit Court today returned indictments against 88 individuals charging 173 separate offenses. Of those indicted today, over 30% were indicted for felony drug crimes.
Roy Ruiz Loredo, age 28, of the 700 block of Trellis Way in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was indicted for Rape (Attempt) and Abduction. Loredo is charged in connection with an attack on a woman on the early morning hours of June 24, 2012, outside of the Brass Bell restaurant on Independence Boulevard. Loredo remains in custody, and his next scheduled court appearance is November 19, 2012, for a motions hearing.
The grand jury returned indictments against four (4) individuals for felony welfare fraud:
