The Sandbridge Beach Replenishment 2013 Project is currently underway. The project spans along the five-mile beach from Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge to the Dam Neck Naval Facility with a total beach nourishment volume of 2 million cubic yards of sand. This is the fourth beach replenishment project for Sandbridge Beach under the City of Virginia Beach/USACE beach erosion control and hurricane protection project partnership.
During the course of construction, Public Works’ Coastal Engineering Group will be capturing time-lapse images of the project at various locations along the beach front community of Sandbridge Beach.
