Meet Your Coaches:
Seanelle Thom is from our fair city, Virginia Beach. She currently attends Norfolk State University majoring in Kinesiotherapy. Seanelle has been swimming since she was 7 and swam for the Kempsville Comets (now called the Stingrays). Seanelle swam for Bayside High School and two years of club team at Longwood University. She was part of the coaching staff for the Timberlake Timberwolves this past summer. Seanelle enjoys eating, shopping and spreading glitter. She tells her swimmers, “Come with a positive attitude and be ready to work hard!”
Scott is a graduate of First Colonial High School and Old Dominion University with a BS in Political Science with a minor in International Relations. He is currently pursuing an MPA at Troy University. Scott learned to swim through the City’s Learn to Swim lessons. He swam competitively three years in high school and was Co-Captain his senior year. This is his seventh year teaching and his third year with the Stingrays. Scott loves soccer and water sports such as surfing and water polo. Kent McKee
Kent McKee hales from Delaware, OH. He attended Pennsylvania State University where he completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering and swam and played water polo for the school. Kent has ten years of swimming experience combined with ten years of coaching experience. He has been coaching in the Winter Swim League for over five seasons and has coached at the high school level in Hampton. Kent’s first swim team was the Delaware Darts. He enjoys water polo, sailing and traveling. Kent wants the swimmers to “Set simple, but positive goals that can be achieved.”
Tim Roenker was born and raised in Virginia Beach and started his swimming experience as a youngster with the Timberlake Torpedoes. In high school, Tim swam for Kempsville and was the boys captain his senior year. He recently graduated from Saint Leo University with a Bachelors of Art in Business Administration. He has many years of coaching experience including five years with the Stingrays. He has also been the Head Coach of the Timberlake Timberwolves for three years now. Tim tells his swimmers, “Do your best, always try and improve.”
