AAA Recycling Zone | 9 am - 4 pm
This year's AAA Recycling Zone is bigger and better than ever! All recycling will take place in Parking Lot 1 at Mount Trashmore Park, located near the YMCA. **Please enter from South Boulevard.**
Electronics Recycling by Synergy RecyclingGet rid of those unwanted electronics! View a

Car Battery Round Up Get a $5 gift card (limit 3 per person, while supplies last) for every vehicle battery you bring in. Car, motorcycle, lawnmower and tractor batteries are eligible.
Child Safety Seat Recycling Have a used child safety seat that no longer meets industry safety standards? Bring it to the AAA Recycling Zone, and we’ll see to it that all the plastic parts are properly broken down and recycled.
Rain Barrel & Compost Bin Sales Recycle rain water with a conservation-friendly rain barrel and make your own nutrient-rich soil for the garden by investing in a composter, both available for purchase onsite, or
pre-order online and pick up at the event. Sales and pick-up will take place in the AAA Recycling Zone located in Parking Lot 1. Please enter from South Boulevard.
Household Hazardous Waste DisposalDon't put that leftover paint or household cleaner in the trash! We'll properly dispose of these items for you. View a

Metals Recycling Did you know we can recycle the metal from your old power tools or even a vacuum cleaner? View a list of accepted items.
Recycled Float Parade Competition | 12:30 pm
New for 2013! The first Recycled Float Parade competition has been established and is seeking your creativity and resourcefulness! Create a recycled float and enter to compete in the Junior Recycler Division (age 12 & under), Recycler Division (age 13 & up), or the Team Recycler Division (all ages). First place winners in each division will receive a $100 Whole Foods gift card. Second place winners in each division will be awarded a $50 Whole Foods gift card. The panel of judges will select the winners based on the most imaginative design, best use of reused/repurposed materials, and the environmental message. All floats must be comprised of repurposed or reused materials. Participants must be able to sit in, ride on, push, pull, or peddle their float. Floats must not be powered by engines of any type.

Dumpster Dive Demonstration
Are we recycling as much as we can?
Project Green Teens will sift through trash and debris in a park dumpster to find items that could have been recycled.
The dumpster dive at our 2011 event revealed that nearly 50% of one dumpster's contents could have been recycled.

Check out the student talent from the Governor's School for the Arts as they design and paint a recycle dumpster bin to raise awareness about conservation.

Free Bike Valet

News Channel 3 Bike Safety Awareness Ride | 1 pm
Bike around Lake Trashmore with a team of bicycle enthusiasts to support awareness of bike safety in Virginia Beach. Learn more about the

Children's Activities
Children's crafts will be provided by the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast. A bounce house and other inflatables will also be available.
