Canine lovers and their furry friends are invited to
Mount Trashmore Park for a day dedicated to the dogs. Pound puppies to the purebred can come paw-to-paw with numerous canine demonstrations, competitions, displays and more at the K-9 Karnival! All dogs (with up-to-date inoculations) are encouraged to attend this free event with their owners!

Schedule of Activities
2013 Hyperflite® Skyhoundz® Local Championships | Registration 10 am - 12 pm; canine disc competition 1 - 3 pm
Unleash the champion in your dog during this ever-entertaining contest with amazing displays of canine grace, athleticism and agility. This disc-catching event is open to all owners and dogs, regardless of breed, size or experience. Register your dog to participate and receive a free Hyperflite disc to use during the competition which is yours to keep!
Canine Rescue Organizations | Over 15 canine rescue organizations will have educational displays and canine activities. If you are interested, many will have dogs on site for adoption.
Exhibits | Commercial exhibitors will showcase a wide range of pet-related products and services. Food and drink will also be available for purchase.
Canine Demonstrations | 10 am - 12:30 pm
The Greater Atlantic Rescue Dogs (GARD) will give a demonstration of search and rescue techniques on the main field. Tidewater Search & Rescue will give an obedience demonstration along with a demonstration with human remains detection dogs. Mid-Atlantic Disc Dog Club will also showcase some high-flying action with their furry friends.
Agility Course | 10 am - 3 pm
With jumps, hoops, tunnels and more, all ages can participate with their pups. All dogs must be on a leash; retractable leashes are not permitted. Presented in partnership with Family Dog Club, Inc.
22nd Annual Dog-Gonest Dog Show | Registration 10 am; contests 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
This is 15 seconds of fame for you and your favorite mutt! Does your dog love peanut butter? Have him or her compete in contests like the “GREAT Peanut Butter Lick-Off!” Additional contests include Tail Wagging, Barking, and “Stupid Pet Tricks.” Register at the show arena on the day of the event. Participation is free and prizes will be awarded!
Rabies Shot Clinic by VBSPCA | 10 am - 3 pm
A must for every dog! Offered onsite at the "Neuter Scooter" by the Virginia Beach SPCA. VBSPCA veterinarians will provide rabies and distemper vaccinations at a reduced rate of $10 each, and microchips at a cost of $25 per pet. Must bring vaccine history in order to receive a 3-year Rabies shot or microchip. **All Spay/Neuter appointments with the Neuter Scooter during K-9 Karnival are full.
