Little Island Park is a 144-acre beach park located next to the Atlantic Ocean, north of the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge.
The park has a 775 foot beach north of the 400 foot fishing pier for surfing and a 2,000 foot beach for swimming and fishing south of the pier. Back Bay, a brackish lake, provides excellent fishing and crabbing along the western border of this unique park.

The following items can be checked out of the park office with a driver license or other form of identification: badminton equipment, basketballs, baseball bats, corn hole boards and bags, footballs, frisbees, rubber playground balls, soccer balls, volleyballs and volleyball nets.
Hours of Operation:
April 15th - October 31st: 5:30 am - 11:00 pm
Lifeguards are on duty daily from 9:30 am - 6:00 pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Fishing Pier:
The 400 foot Little Island Fishing Pier is open seven days a week. Enjoy a newly improved pier walkway/railing, enhanced public access, and a new 200 linear foot pier-shoreline connection. Virginia Saltwater Fishing License is not required on the Fishing Pier, but is required to fish from the beach. Only service dogs are permitted on the pier.

$7 per day (April - October)

Parking Fees:
Parking fees are charged beginning the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day
$3 per day for Virginia Beach residents
$5 per day for non-residents
$10 per day for buses/RVs
