Volunteer Program @ Virginia Beach Public Library!
The Virginia Beach Public Library is committed to providing people of all ages with the opportunities, programs, information and materials to help them meet lifelong learning, cultural and recreational goals. Our volunteer program encourages both adults and teens to be involved in the library through creative original programming, promoting the library in the community and by completing various library tasks. Our program helps volunteers to gain invaluable work experiences, it increases their knowledge of libraries and library resources, while providing services to library users of all ages.
Please Note: We do not accept court ordered community service volunteer requests. You may contact the Office of Volunteer Resources about additional citywide opportunities that may fulfill your court mandated needs.
Become a volunteer:
Adults: We are currently underway restructuring our adult volunteer program and at this time we are not accepting adult applications.
Teens: Between the ages of 12-17 who are interested in being a member of our Teen Advisory Group (TAG) may download the TAG Volunteer Application and Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement. NOTE: Please contact the branch Volunteer Resource Manager(s) listed below, before returning forms to your local library to ensure there are current TAG Volunteer openings.
All volunteer positions require: Completed and signed volunteer application and confidentiality agreement. Background check for anyone 18 years or older. An interview and orientation/training.
