Volunteer Program @ Virginia Beach Public Library!
The Virginia Beach Public Library is committed to providing people of all ages with the opportunities, programs, information and materials to help them meet lifelong learning, cultural and recreational goals. Our volunteer program encourages involvement in the library through creative original programming, volunteering and promoting the library in the community. Volunteer position openings vary throughout the year and whether you are interested in making a weekly commitment or working on a short-term project, we have a number of positions from which to choose.
Please Note: We do not accept court ordered community service volunteer requests. You may contact the Office of Volunteer Resources about additional citywide opportunities that may fulfill your court mandated needs.
Become a volunteer:
Adults: We are currently underway restructuring our adult volunteer program and at this time we are not accepting adult applications.
Teens: Summer Reading Challenge Volunteers Needed!
between 13-17 years old, we need you! Earn volunteer hours and
boost your college applications. Shifts vary per branch.
To Apply: Complete an application (Teen Volunteer Application-SRC-2015.pdf) and return it to your local library.

Teens: Between the ages of 12-17 who are interested in being a member of our Teen Advisory Group (TAG) may download the TAG application. Please return the completed application to your local library.
All volunteer positions require an application, an interview, and orientation. You can generally expect to hear back from the Volunteer Resource Manager within 5 business days of submitting your application.
Agency Volunteer Resource Managers:
