Donate to the Library
Thank you for your interest in donating to the Virginia Beach Public Library! Donating materials is a great way to support our mission to serve the citizens of Virginia Beach.
Books, DVD’s, Music CD’s and Spoken Audio
The library accepts donations of books, DVD’s, music CD’s, and spoken audio on CD in good condition. We provide a receipt for tax purposes, but appraisals for the value of donated materials are the responsibility of the donor.
All donations are assessed by library staff to determine if they are needed for the library’s collection. Materials not added to the library collection are given to the Friends of the Virginia Beach Public Library, who support the library by selling used books.
Please drop off boxed or bagged donations to any Library location.
In Honor of/In Memory of
To make a donation for the purchase of materials in memory or in honor of a loved one, please see a staff member to obtain a Donation Form. A library gift plate will be placed in each item that is purchased for the Library collection.
Historical Books, Documents and Photos
Virginia Beach Public Library is very interested in receiving donations of materials documenting Virginia and Virginia Beach history. Please contact Pat Cook, Central Librarian, at (757) 385-0101.
