The Virginia Beach Public Library offers its customers free public access to the Internet. Free wireless access is also available in all locations. The Library is not responsible for the accuracy, currency or appropriateness of materials found online.
This Internet Use Policy applies to both wired and wireless Internet access.
Pursuant to state law 42.1-36.1,
all Library computers, as well as the Wireless access, must be filtered. This filtering will block access to child pornography, as set out in 18.2-374.1:1, obscenity, as defined in 18.2-372, and with respect to juveniles, materials deemed harmful to juveniles, as defined in 18.2-390. People wanting the filtering turned off must ask library staff to change the settings. Only a parent or legal guardian may ask that the filtering be removed for a juvenile.
