Song preview not working?
If nothing happens when you select the play arrow to listen to the song sample, check Flash player on your computer. You need version 10 or higher. Your Internet browser may also be causing the problem. Freegal music is not supported with the AOL Explorer browser. It is fully supported by Internet 7, 8 and 9, Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome.
Partially downloaded song?
If you have a problem with a download, don't worry. You can download twice a previously downloaded song without using up one of your weekly downloads. All you need to do is select Recent Downloads which is located at the top of the Freegal homepage. If you exceed your download attempts for any song, you will receive a message that says "Limit Exceeded". The song will be removed from your Recent Downloads.
Not authorized to use site?
If after logging in and accepting the terms of use, you receive a message that says that you're not authorized to view the site there are a couple of things to try. First, clear your Internet browser history and delete your cookies. Still not working? If there are several household members using the Freegal site, make sure that everyone has "logged off" Freegal. All they need to do is select the logout link. Last, check your firewall settings. They make be preventing you from getting through. It's always a good idea to add the Freegal URL to your list of trusted sites.
I’m having problems logging into Freegal…what should I do?
You will not be able to access Freegal through the Virginia Beach Public Library web site without a valid Virginia Beach Public Library Library card and PIN. You can confirm your account information by clicking on “My Account” in the library’s online catalog. Generally,
clearing the memory cache on your computer can resolve a log-in problem.
Where's my third download?
You may have selected the download now link during the week. Anytime you select this link, even if cancel the download, a download is counted against your weekly allotment.
Where did my song go?
If you selected Open instead of Save or did not specify a location to save the file, it may seem like the song is missing. It's most likely in a Temporary Internet Folder. You can use your computer's search to identify where the song was saved. Using the song title or the artist name as your search term, search for music files. All files are in MP3 format.
