It's a busy time at Virginia Beach Public Library...
The Tidewater Community College-City of Virginia Beach Joint Use Library is opening in August, 2013.
We're creating early literacy centers in all of our libraries, including an exciting $180,000 center at the Joint Use Library, funded by the Virginia Beach Library Foundation.
Our Summer Reading Challenge will soon be underway to help keep young minds
engaged during summer break, with programs and prizes funded by a $30,000 grant from the Friends of the Virginia Beach Public Library.
Citizens of Virginia Beach will be "On the Same Page" this fall when we host a community reading program based on "The Dirty Life," by Kristin Kimball and discuss important local topics including community-supported agriculture and sustainable living.
We're continuously adapting to and implementing new technologies to ensure our collection and services remain current and relevant.
Planning is in the works for a staff training day in April 2014 to ensure all VBPL staff have the knowledge, skills and abilities to continue providing the best possible library services to the citizens of Virginia Beach.
These are just a few of the exciting projects on the horizon at Virginia Beach Public Library.
